Letter From the President

Alpha Xi Delta is a truly unique and wonderful group of women. Here, sisters take pride in our academics and in community service, but we also value the time we spend just having fun and being with one another. On behalf of over 142,000 sisters worldwide, we welcome you to our site!
The sisters of Alpha Xi Delta strive to be true sisters in every sense of the word. We work to bring life to one of our mottos “Inspiring women to realize their potential” and we have been doing this at Marquette for over 20 years!
Our house, located at 854 N. 17th Street, has been recently renovated, helping us provide a more fun and useful area for all of our sisters to gather -- whether it be to eat, laugh, watch movies, or study. Our living room has been expanded to include a new multi-purpose room for exercise, TV, and games. Our lower level is being improved daily to make a large, cozy space with couches and tables for group studying or crafting.
In 2009, the Alpha Xi Delta pledge class at Marquette was voted the Best New Member Class in the country. This, along with numerous other awards, is part of what makes us so proud of our chapter.
So please, check us out and see what you think. We think you’ll like what you see. Our sisterhood is strong, our socials fun, and our opportunities unending. When I first joined AXiD, I didn’t know what to expect. I soon found out that it’s not only fun, formals, socials, best friends, and a support system; it is also a place to call home and a group of women who will be with you your whole life. This is a true sisterhood which will last long beyond the college years. This sorority gives us the confidence we need to find our place on campus and get through the daily stresses of college and life, all while enjoying each other. As one sister, Jennifer Gianino, was quoted in U.S. News: “Membership in a sorority is more than an oath or songs -- it's about gaining confidence, making lasting friendships, inspiring others, leaving a legacy for others to enjoy, developing intelligent women and helping others who are less fortunate.”
